Road Rage Incident Leads To Roadside Fight In Loudoun: Police

One man was arrested after he was accused of pulling out a gun in traffic and fighting another driver on Sunday afternoon, police said.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A man was arrested on Sunday after he was accused of assaulting a driver along the side of the road on Woodgrove Road near Round Hill. Police identified the man as Rostslav Kamenetsky, a 51-year-old Chantilly resident.

Authorities said the incident began as a dispute between two drivers. After the fight, the victim and Kamenetsky were taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for their injuries, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

The victim told police that he was driving near Route 7 and East Loudoun Street when he had an altercation with another driver. In their report, the sheriff's office did not disclose what exactly caused the initial altercation.

As the victim continued driving, the other driver followed him, police said. During the traffic altercation, the victim had two children in his car, according to the police report.

As the confrontation continued in the area around Woodgrove Road, a family member of the victim came to assist, authorities said. Then, the suspect and the victim began to fight, the sheriff's office wrote in their report.

At 2:57 p.m., the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office received a report of a fight in the 16500 block of Woodgrove Road in Round Hill. A caller told police that one of the people in the fight was armed with a gun.

During the fight, a passerby was able to help restrain the suspect until police arrived. The two men involved in the fight were taken to a local a hospital to receive further treatment for their injuries.

Loudoun County deputies recovered a gun at the scene, according to the police report. After an investigation, deputies identified Kamenetsky as the suspect.

Kamenetsky is charged with five counts of brandishing a firearm, simple assault, malicious wounding, and aggressive driving. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
