A boxing match broke out after the NASCAR All-Star race Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C.

That after Clint Bowyer charged the car of Ryan Newman and started throwing punches while Newman sat in his car with his helmet on.

Bowyer was upset because of some contact Newman made with his car late in the race. The touch sent Bowyer’s car into the wall.

Soon after Kyle Larson won the race, Bowyer parked his car after the cool-down lap and charged Newman’s car and started swinging his fists wildly.

Newman’s team got between Bowyer and Newman.

“Doesn’t take much of a man to try and fight someone with a helmet on,” said Newman. “I think he should be embarrassed of himself.”

After Newman got out of his car, the two drivers had a heated conversation before Newman walked away.

NASCAR summoned both drivers soon after the race, seeking an explanation on the matter.

The two drivers will race again in the Coca-Cola 600 next week at the same place.
