Tawny Kitaen revealed Jerry Seinfeld was a cheap boyfriend: writer

What’s the deal with the frugal gifts?

Jerry Seinfeld was a frugal boyfriend while dating media personality and actress Tawny Kitaen, according to a writer who interviewed the late star for a 2002 book.

Kitaen, 59, died on May 7. The cause of death is still unknown.

The actress told writer Jerry Oppenheimer the millionaire comic would give her a teddy bear and a Coach purse, while driving various Porsches to the studio lot.

“Jerry had nothing else to really spend his money on. He was just amazed that he could buy so many tennis shoes and Porsches. He was like, ‘Wow I can do this. Cool!'” Kitaen said, according to Oppenheimer, writing in the Daily Mail.

“But he wasn’t the kind of guy who wore a gold Rolex with his left arm out the window of his Porsche going, ‘Hey, Baby.’ If he was, I wouldn’t have spent a second with him,” she said.

Kitaen portrayed Seinfeld’s on-screen love interest in a 1999 episode of Seinfeld, “The Nose Job.”

Oppenheimer is the author of “Seinfeld: The Making of an American Icon: The Unauthorized Biography.”
