GENESEE COUNTY, MI -- Genesee County Circuit and Probate Courts begin the process of reopening to the public on Monday, June 22, 2020 but will closed on Fridays from June 26 until July 31.

Chief Circuit Judge Duncan M. Beagle signed local administrative orders, setting the schedule, which the county announced in a news release Thursday, June 18.

The county says the reopening comes after court officials have taken “significant changes in facility operations to include signs underscoring the need to continue social distancing and frequent hand washing.”

The Friday closings are designed as an additional measure “to ensure minimal, controlled person-to-person contact,” the county news release says.

In addition to those closings, the courthouse will also be closed for a previously scheduled county government furlough day on Monday, July 6.
