Kylie Jenner's brand Khy slammed as 'money grab fast fashion retailer' as shoppers question who would wear it

Kylie Jenner is being slammed over her clothing brand Khy, which is just the latest blow amid rumors of relationship woes with her long-term boyfriend Timothee Chalamet.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum, 27, and the Little Women actor, 29, looked loved up at Coachella on Saturday but a body language expert told DailyMail.com they had an 'awkward' dynamic despite being together for two years.

The couple also went viral after another awkward exchange during a tennis match at the BNP Paribas Open that sparked speculation about the strength of their relationship.

Amid the hypothesizing, fans are now flocking to Reddit to reflect on Khy, which the reality star launched on November 1, 2023 to mixed reviews - although the self-made billionaire earned a whopping $1 million in the first hour of sales.

While Kylie's sister Kim Kardashian runs the massively successful loungewear line Skims and Khloe Kardashian founded the popular denim brand Good American, shoppers appear to be less impressed with Khy.

Khy has previously sold '90s-inspired swimwear as well as controversial faux leather pieces.

Now, the brand still focuses on fake leather, with Kylie most recently posing in an itty bitty trim pins-baring miniskirt with a matching black crop top on Instagram.

While the chic all-black look was quickly praised by her Instagram followers, who called her 'the most beautiful woman to ever exist' and 'so sexy,' some people are calling out the brand for being too expensive, similar to fast fashion retailers like Shein, and not being appropriate for 'normal' people to wear.

One Reddit thread asked: 'Is the brand actually doing well? Is the buzz there? Is it a money grab? Have you brought something from Khy? Has she kinda lost her impact?'

Fans quickly aired their grievances and longed for the days when she was only selling her wildly popular Kylie Cosmetics lip kits.

They specifically referenced the black sequined micro shorts she was wearing in a promotional picture.

'Where does one wear this to? They're sequin volleyball shorts,' one person asked, as another quipped, 'Grocery store. Perfect for when you need to get some eggs.'

Others compared the looks to fast fashion retailers, with one commenter saying, 'I swear I've seen these exact shorts on Shein.'

Khy's black sequined micro shorts are now sold out but previously retailed for $48, while the Shein version is available for $10. Both are made of polyester.

'Absolutely no buzz around this brand,' one fashionista declared.

Others were furious about the high price point. The least expensive item is $42 for a baby tee and the most expensive is $498 for a double-breasted leather coat.

'It's giving us nothing new. You can get this stuff for cheaper elsewhere or buy it at a similar price and actually get quality and/or ethically made. It's typical Kardashian stuff — basic, ripped off from another designer, not ethically made,' one commenter claimed.

'Every single item of clothing in this line she picked because she'd wear it and looked good on her. The only people we ever see wearing anything from Khy are "influencers," friends and family. Which we all know they are getting it for free,' another accused.

While Kylie doesn't have celebrity models like her sister's brand Skims, she does appear to gift fellow influencers like Alix Earle outfits to wear.

One person summed it up by saying: 'Kylie looks fantastic in anything but I can't see it suiting the "average" lady.'
