KYLE has tapped Kehlani for his new song “Playinwitme,” the second from his forthcoming debut album. Bouncy piano chords and playful drums carry the track as KYLE raps about leaving behind a girl who keeps playing with his head. Kehlani joins in with a melodious feature that brings a queer dynamic to the song.

In an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, KYLE talked about the first time he met Kehlani. “I met her, and she was hella cool,” he said. “I was like, ‘Wow this might be the coolest person I damn near ever ran into in my life.’” They later linked up and cut the new track at his apartment.

KYLE also revealed that he has a track featuring Khalid on his upcoming album titled “I Miss Me,” as well as another song with 2 Chainz and Sophia Black. This new single follows the release of “To the Moon,” which dropped less than two weeks ago.

In a 2017 interview with Complex, the “iSpy” artist discussed his highly-anticipated debut album. This new project, he explained, will highlight other parts of his personality beyond the upbeat side he’s become known for. “It’s not about being happy 100 percent all the time, cause that’s just life. I make sad songs too, that really only make the happy songs better,” he said. “It’s my most personal piece of work I’ve ever done, hands down. I’ve never had so much focus in just using these words to really describe how I’m feeling as a person and what’s really been on my mind and in my heart.”

There’s no release date or name for the upcoming album yet, but the two new singles hint that it could be here sooner rather than later. KYLE will be hitting the road this summer to join Logic’s The Bobby Tarantino vs. Everybody Tour, which kicks off on June 8, and he’s also performing at Coachella next month.
