Hooksett Police Confirm Body Found In The Merrimack River

Fire, Police, and EMS responded at 2 pm for reports of a kayaker who had found a body in the Merrimack River.

On September 25th, 2020, an autopsy was completed regarding this case at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord. The body was identified as a male, age 52, from Hooksett, NH. The death has been ruled a suicide. The name of the male is not being released at this time.

HOOKSETT, NH — Hooksett Police confirm a body has been located and removed from the Merrimack River.

HPD says "On September 23rd, 2020, at approximately 1:54 PM, the Hooksett Police Department responded to the Merrimack River under the Main St. bridge for a report of a deceased individual in the water."

In a press release Hooksett Police said "With the assistance of the NH Marine Patrol and Hooksett Fire Department, the body was recovered and examined by the NH Medical Examiner on scene. There is no evidence suggesting foul play and an autopsy is scheduled for September 24th at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord."
