Hampton Police Officer Arrested On DWI Charge

HAMPTON, NH — A Hampton police officer has been arrested on a DWI charge, after reportedly coming in to work intoxicated on Tuesday night. Hampton Police Officer James Patton, 58, of Hampton, was charged with DWI. State Police he arrived to the Hampton police station for duty around 7:50 p.m. and appeared to his coworkers to be intoxicated. The Hampton police called the State Police, who arrested Patton.

Patton was released on a summons after his arrest. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment in Hampton Circuit Court on Aug. 22. Anyone with further information about the incident is asked to contact State Trooper Chris O'Toole at christopher.O'Toole@dos.nh.gov or 603-223-8490.
