The pitchman for the discount travel website Trivago was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Houston for allegedly driving while intoxicated, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Tim Williams, 52, was discovered around 3:15 p.m. behind the wheel of a vehicle, passed out with his foot on the brake in a moving lane of traffic, police said.
After he was pulled over, the actor allegedly failed a sobriety test, authorities said. He also submitted to a blood test, but the results weren’t released.
Williams was booked on a misdemeanor charge for driving while intoxicated, according to court records.
He was also ordered to have a mental health or intellectual disability assessment, the Chronicle reported.
The actor was released on $100 bond — about $60 higher than the best rate on Trivago for a hotel in the Houston area.
It’s unclear if Williams will remain the face of the travel site.
“At this stage, we do not have the full details of the situation, but we want to make clear that Trivago treats such incidents very seriously and strongly condemns drinking and driving, which poses a risk to others and goes against the Trivago culture,” a spokesperson told CNN.
