1 dead, another wounded in Bronx tobacco store shooting: cops

One man was killed and another injured late Wednesday during a shooting inside a Bronx tobacco store, police said.

An unidentified gunman walked into King of NY Tobacco Shop on East 167th Street in Concourse Village just after 11 p.m. and started shooting, cops said.

Kashka Richards, 23, was shot in the head and a 32 year-old man was hit in the leg, police said.

The 32-year-old was able to flee the store and call 911 from a block away at Sheridan Street and East 168th Street, according to police.

Richards was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting by EMS, while the other victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition, police said.

It’s not immediately clear whether the gunman intended to rob the store or whether the two men, who don’t appear to have known each other, were targeted, police said.
