Amazon wants more of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

After some gentle prodding from series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino—who addressed Amazon executives while accepting a Peabody award for the show last night, saying, “You’re going to give [another season] to us because we’re bringing home the fancy thing, right?”—Amazon Studios has confirmed that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been renewed for a third season, as Variety reports.

The show has been picking up awards all over the place: Along with the “fancy thing,” it’s won two Golden Globes, two Critics’ Choice Awards, and a Producers Guild award since season one debuted in November 2017. Rachel Brosnahan stars as Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a Jewish housewife in 1950s New York City who finds her path to personal liberation through the city’s bourgeoning stand-up comedy scene. A second season of the show is due out later this year. Season three has yet to be put on Amazon’s calendar, but will likely consist of 10 episodes, one more than seasons one and two’s combined 18-episode order.
