MUSKEGON, MI – Parties in the Park is celebrating is 35th season with a signature beer by Pigeon Hill Brewing Co.

Both the party and the brewery are downtown Muskegon staples.

The beer, “PIP PIP Hooray,” will debut at the season-opening party at Hackley Park, 350 W. Webster Ave., from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, May 31, according to a news release.

Parties in the Park organizers asked its social media followers to help name the beer. PIP PIP Hooray was submitted by Esther Ricco and plays off an acronym for Parties in the Park.

PIP PIP Hooray is Pigeon Hill’s take on a summer ale with a focus on fun and drinkability. Taking inspiration from classic German beer with a unique spin, it is “the easy drinking summer beer we all deserve,” according to the release.

"Being big supporters of the community, our downtown and Parties in the Park, we were excited to be able to brew a beer that will be featured at Parties in the Park this summer,” Pigeon Hill co-owner Michael Brower said in a statement.

Pigeon Hill recently moved its brewing headquarters from 441 W. Western Ave. to 895 Fourth St. in downtown Muskegon as part of a $2.5 million expansion. Its taproom is at 500 W. Western Ave. in downtown Muskegon.

Parties in the Park focuses on music acts partnered with non-profit hosts. The first event of 2019 will feature Sharrie Williams and the Wiseguys and the Vincent Hayes Band hosted by the Muskegon Sports Council. Hosting organizations receive the profits from the parties.
