Whoopi Goldberg meets with ABC brass after Abby Huntsman’s ‘View’ exit

Immediately after Abby Huntsman announced she was exiting ABC’s “The View,” her co-host Whoopi Goldberg had a meeting with ABC News president James Goldston and the division’s senior VP of talent, Barbara Fedida, at the Atlantic Grill.

“They were having lunch, and Whoopi did not look happy,” a media insider told Page Six. After the talk, “she took off with her private driver, and James walked back to the ABC headquarters.”

A source close to Goldberg explained her mood at the meal by telling us, “She was unhappy that the media ‘won’t let a bitch eat in peace.’” The same source also insisted that the reason for the meeting was because “ABC News is going to be doing documentaries, some of which [Whoopi] is pitching.”

Insiders told us that producers at the hit daytime show are fearful of leaks, with all the drama around Huntsman’s departure and the cast’s tense relations with Meghan McCain.

An ABC spokesperson said Goldberg’s meeting with top brass was strictly business: “Nothing to see here. They had a nice meal. Someone is trying to create drama where there is none.”
