Congratulations are in order for Katy Perry, who revealed Thursday that she is pregnant with her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom.
The pop star, 35, shared the big news with her fans by showing off her baby bump in her new music video for “Never Worn White,” cradling her stomach while clad in a white off-the-shoulder wedding dress by Alexis Mabille.
“It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I thought I would tell you guys in the best way through a piece of music,” Perry said during an Instagram Live after the clip’s release.
“I had to reveal it at some point. It’s getting pretty obvious.”
On Twitter, the “Roar” hitmaker elaborated on how she managed to keep her growing tummy under wraps for the past few months. “Omg so glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore,” she wrote, before adding, “or carry around a big purse lol.”
Indeed, a look back at Perry’s recent outfit choices reveals that the star made some savvy style choices to help keep her pregnancy a secret — starting with the swingy pink satin Lela Rose dress ($2,650) she chose for a February 3 theater outing in London.
One day later, she attended the British Asian Trust gala dinner in a navy Stella McCartney gown, and cleverly held her silver clutch ($1,045) in front of her midsection throughout the evening.
On February 12, she stepped out in a cute pink animal-print Dundas suit with a boxy, oversized fit that easily disguised her bump.
And two days after, she used her tried-and-true handbag trick with a pink Mark Cross purse ($2,558) while out in LA.
Now that the star’s secret is finally out, fans can look forward to plenty of equally playful maternity outfits in the months to come.
