Ant McPartlin and Lisa Armstrong’s 11-year marriage over in 30 seconds as they are granted divorce

Ant McPartlin and Lisa Armstrong have divorced after being granted a decree nisi today.

The couple’s 11 year marriage was ended in a 30 second hearing at the Central Family Court in London.

It is believed Ant admitted to adultery on the grounds that he began a relationship with their personal assistant Anne-Marie Corbett after his separation from Lisa, but before they had formally divorced.

The divorce will be finalised in six weeks time, when the pair can apply for a decree absolute – the legal document that ends their marriage.

Ant, 42, and Lisa, 41, got married in 2006 after beginning their relationship in the mid 90s.

A statement from Ant’s rep in January read: ‘In response to the recent speculation in the media, Ant is very sad to announce that, after eleven years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin.

‘Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families. No further statement will be made.’

Last year McPartlin entered rehab after struggling with a two-year addiction to super-strength painkillers following a knee operation in 2015.

Then in April he was banned from the road for 20 months and fined £86,000 for driving while more than twice the legal limit following a three-car smash in South West London earlier that month.

He later announced he was stepping back from TV commitments and will not appear on the next series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, as well as Saturday Night Takeaway and the live shows of Britain’s Got Talent.

Ant is now dating Anne-Marie Corbett while he continues to focus on his health and wellbeing.
