These Dallas Restaurants Have Temporarily Closed After Employees Tested Positive for COVID-19

Over the past few days, a number of Dallas restaurants have announced that they would close their doors again as workers at these establishments tested positive for COVID-19. It’s a tough decision for these restaurant owners, who just reopened their eateries after weeks of being shuttered by the statewide shutdown.

To be clear, announcing that an employee tested positive and shutting down is the right thing to do. It’s an important show of transparency, one that lets diners know that their favorite spots take this pandemic seriously. It also could play a huge role in stopping the spread of coronavirus across the state, where new cases are still on the rise.

Over the coming weeks, Eater will keep a running list of the restaurants that have made the decision to close temporarily after a positive COVID-19 test. Closed Now

• Boulevardier and Rapscallion — Both businesses closed on June 30, according to a Facebook post. No reopening timeline has been announced yet.
• Spiral Diner — Announced on Facebook June 30 that an employee at the Fort Worth location had tested positive for Covid-19, leading to a temporary closure of that location. No opening date has been announced.
• Ascension Coffee — Per a Facebook post on June 15, the Uptown location of Ascension Coffee inside the Crescent is closed until further notice after a staffer tested positive for COVID-19. The shop said that the worker had no contact with guests, and that the space will undergo a “deep sanitization.”
• Oak Cliff Social Club — Closed on June 16, no reopening timeline announced.

Closed and Reopened

• Cane Rosso — Per a Facebook post, the Carrollton location of Cane Rosso will reopen on June 18 at 4 p.m.
• Sandwich Hag — Closed on June 18; reopened July 2.
• Zoli’s — Per a Facebook post, Zoli’s will reopen on June 18 at 4 p.m.
• Harwood Tavern — Closed briefly for a deep-cleaning, did not disclose details on positive tests in the restaurant.
• Alamo Club — Closed on June 15, reopened on June 19 after cleaning and sanitizing the restaurant and testing employees.
• Vantina — Closed on June 15 following an employee’s positive test, per Instagram.
• Royal China — Closed on June 9 after employee tested positive for COVID-19; reopened on June 22.
• Al Biernat’s — Per the Dallas Morning News, Al Biernat’s closed in early June after an employee’s positive test; reopened June 18.
• Sidecar Social — Via a Facebook post on Tuesday, this Addison eatertainment spot announced that it is closed temporarily; reopened on June 25.
• Montlake Cut — Closed on June 17 after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, will “thoroughly disinfect and sanitize the building” on June 18, per a statement to its website.
• Neighborhood Services — Closed on June 19, per a Facebook post; no reopening timeline announced.
