Hugo Hammond has confirmed that the Love Island cast WhatsApp group is already pretty dry, and we’re actually quite gutted.

It has only been a matter of weeks since the finalists returned home from Majorca, after Millie Court and Liam Reardon were declared winners and took home that £50,000 prize.

But, despite meeting up for the infamous Love Island reunion after landing back in the UK, the former PE teacher confessed that their group text isn’t quite full of tea.

Chatting to Metro.co.uk, Hugo told us: ‘There’s a cast WhatsApp group, it’s called, “You’ve got a text” and everyone is in it.’

When asked if it was popping off now that everyone has their phones back, he continued: ‘No, it’s not actually. Maybe I should put a message in it now?

‘It’s been like a week since anyone has messaged. I think everyone’s on their own grind and graft, and I’m sure everyone speaks to each other separately as well.

‘I speak to a couple people off the group chat obviously, just on a one-on-one basis and whatnot.

‘The group chat is quite dry at the minute but maybe when there’s more events coming up, it will start popping off again.’

Fingers crossed…

The ITV2 star is putting this down to everyone being so busy upon landing back in the UK, spending time catching up with friends and family, and also making the most of their newfound fame and fresh opportunities.

‘I think everyone’s been so busy. I’ve seen everyone a couple of times, but not weekly,’ he added. ‘I’ve seen everyone a few times.

‘I think everyone at the minute is getting themselves ready for their future plans and whatnot. I think everyone’s grinding and grafting a little bit, obviously mixed in with a bit of pleasure and fun. We speak to each other on occasion.

‘Everyone seems to be doing really well from the show and I think most people seem really happy, which, for me is really super important.

‘I think everyone’s like mental wellbeing and happiness is probably at the forefront of all ex-Islanders right now. It seems like everyone’s doing really well so I’m happy for everyone.’

Love Island is available to catch up on ITVHub now.
