Grand Forks man arrested for drug possession, DUI, fleeing

A Grand Forks man was arrested Sunday on various charges, including drug possession, driving under the influence and fleeing.

Police were called late Sunday morning to a Hugo's store for a medical call, but when they arrived, the suspect had left the store. According to a police report, an officer saw the man get into a Jeep SUV and leave at a high rate of speed on North 20th Street. The vehicle later was found unoccupied in an alley in the 1900 block of Second Avenue North.

Witnesses helped police locate the driver, who was fleeing on foot; he was pursued for several blocks and caught, according to the police report.

Joshua Bruce, 32, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence, fleeing in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment and on a district warrant for fraud.
