Hampden Township commissioners have decided to reopen the municipal swimming pool in late June, but it will be a members-only affair.
You can blame COVID-19 for that restriction.
“To reduce the crowd size, it was decided that the 2020 season would be restricted to members only,” Commission President John V. Thomas said Friday.
Thomas said it is expected the pool will open June 27 for a swimming season that will run through Sept. 7.
He said pool staff have been instructed on coronavirus precautions, including social distancing, and the state Department of Health has been consulted regarding how to ensure bather safety.
