Britney Spears may not do it again.
At least that is what the singer’s manager has reportedly said,
\\\\The singer’s manager, in confirming her Las Vegas residency won’t happen, told TMZ that Spears might never perform again.
“I don’t want her to work again ’till she’s ready, physically, mentally and passionately,” longtime manager Larry Rudolph told the gossip site. “If that time never comes again it will never come again. I have no desire or ability to make her work again. I am only here for her when she wants to work. And, if she ever does want to work again, I’m here to tell her if it’s a good idea or a bad idea.”
The “… Baby One More Time” singer, 37, was supposed to begin a Las Vegas residency in February, but it was postponed at the top of the year due to the health crisis of her father and manager, Jamie Spears.
Jamie Spears has been the conservator for his troubled daughter for a decade. Last week, Britney Spears testified in a closed courtroom about the conservatorship case. That came after she spent a 30-day stay at a mental health facility triggered by problems with her meds.
She took to social media last month to address rumors she was held in the mental health facility against her will.
“Hi, guys. Just checking in with all of you who are concerned about me. All is well,” Spears said in an Instagram video posted April 23. “My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal. But don’t worry, I’ll be back very soon.
At Friday’s hearing, the conservatorship was left in place pending a follow-up status hearing Sept. 18.
And Spears is still in no shape to take the state, Rudolph told TMZ.
“As the person who guides her career — based on the information I and all of the professionals who work with her are being told on a need-to-know basis — from what I have gathered it’s clear to me she should not be going back to do this Vegas residency, not in the near future and possibly never again,” he told the celebrity gossip site.
The former entertainment lawyer, who has repped Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Toni Braxton and DMX, said he is only given medical information that directly impacts the pop icon’s career, the outlet reports. Spears was two-thirds of the way through rehearsals for her Vegas reboot when her dad got ill late last year.
Rudolph said it’s always been up to the former teen pop sensation when she wanted to work and when she didn’t.
“Last summer, when she wanted to tour, she called me every day,” he revealed. “She was excited. She hasn’t called me in months. Crickets. She clearly doesn’t want to perform now.”
