LeBron James, Anthony Davis’ Lakers returns on the horizon

Even at far less than full strength, the Lakers sent a message with the rout of the Nets Saturday night, and they could be getting the band back together soon.

Superstar forward Anthony Davis could be back within 14 days and LeBron James may follow him, ESPN reports. Davis will get re-evaluated by team doctors this week after being out since Feb. 14 with a calf strain and tendonitis in his right leg. James, dealing with a high right ankle sprain, is expected back within three weeks.

Without Davis, the Lakers are 12-13 and have fallen to the fifth seed in the competitive Western Conference. He was averaging 22.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.3 steals at the time of his injury. James was considered an MVP candidate before his injury, notching 25.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game.
