If you wannabe my idol, you gotta get a good sound system.

That’s the message that some fans of the Spice Girls shared on social media, after the kickoff concert of the much anticipated reunion tour of the Girl Power goddesses in Dublin on Friday.

Baby, Scary, Ginger and Sporty opened their sold-out show with an everybody-is-equal message of empowerment:

“Welcome to Spice World. Spice girls, spice boys, everyone is welcome. We want every single one of you to feel special tonight. Like a king or a queen, we celebrate you. But I got to say there are a lot of queens here tonight,” Ginger Spice told the crowd.

While many posts on marveled at the “amazing,” “magical,” and “so cool” spectacle — Twitter user @herryates couldn’t even describe it: “I just can’t even,” — others were not happy with the sound quality.

User @lousoul tweeted that even though the girls were putting on a “fabulous show,” it was the “worst sound I’ve ever heard at a concert.”

“There’s something wrong when the crowd at @spicegirls concert are all sitting down because no one has a clue what song is on because the sound really is THAT bad,” @sabrinasstyle tweeted.

Melanie (Mel B) Brown addressed the issue on an Instagram story, People reported.

“Hey guys, thank you for attending our show tonight in Dublin,” Brown, 43, said in a video shared to her Instagram story. “We will see you in Cardiff and hopefully the vocals and the sound will be much, much better.”

This is the first time in seven years Spice Girls performed together. It’s not a full reunion, though. Victoria (Posh Spice) Beckham, decided not to join the other four on the 13-date tour.
