Old fashion! Grandson dresses his 84-year-old grandfather in trendy designer clothes - and now he's got 100,000 Instagram followers

A Japanese TV writer who decided to dress his 84-year-old grandfather in a host of designer clothes has revealed the pair now have 100,000 followers on Instagram.

Naoya Kudo returned to his hometown of Akita Prefecture in Japan last month for 'Golden Week', a special time in the country's calendar that contains a number of national holidays.

During his week off work Mr Kudo visited his hardworking granddad Tetsuya, who lives in the rural region and still farms the land well into his 80s.

The former chemistry teacher isn't accustomed to designer brands celebrities and fashion-focused youths are wearing these days, so for fun, Mr Kudo decided to dress him up in his clothes.

The results have become an Instagram account, slvr.tty, and the outcome was 'better than he could have imagined'.

'He was surprisingly enthusiastic about it. He gave a lot of suggestions about where to shoot and other things,' Mr Kudo told Buzzfeed.

Tetsuya gets thousands of likes on each food, something that has completely surprised his family.
