Ex-Syracuse football RB Walter Reyes' funeral arrangements are set

Syracuse, N.Y. -- The family of Walter Reyes has finalized funeral arrangements for the former Syracuse football running back who died Sunday.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 4 at Wasko Funeral Home, 216 Coitsville Rd., in Campbell, Ohio.

A viewing will be held 2-5 p.m. Dec. 3 at the same location.

Reyes, 36, passed away Sunday night after experiencing stomach pain in the preceding days. A coroners' report will determine the cause of death.

Reyes is No. 2 on Syracuse football's all-time rushing list with 3,424 yards. He played at SU from 2001-04, when he was a first-team All-Big East selection his senior season.

A candle vigil will be held at 6 Friday night at Struthers High School, where Reyes played.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family cover funeral costs.
