Is frozen pizza amazing or an abomination?

Pizza is one of the most addicting foods in the world. So when a craving hits, little can stand in the way between you and the cheesy, saucy goodness. For some, frozen pizza is an easy go-to -- it's cheap, easy and in your control. Others turn their nose up at the frozen stuff, saying that fresh pizza is the only way to go; frozen pizza is hardly pizza anyway. Frozen pizza is simple, humble and cheesy, but does it have merit?

PERSPECTIVES

Frozen pizza is there for you when you need it. There is no wait time for the delivery guy or after sitting down at a restaurant. If you need pizza, you NEED pizza, and the freezer variety just requires a quick trip to the oven before you are united.

Frozen pizza can also become a child of your own creation. Skip those extra fees for pepperoni and sausage, just throw whatever is in the fridge onto that glorious dough. You are the writer of this pie's story. And as Sethlui's June Chen points out, frozen pizza is also the more economical option:

Some say this argument is straight hogwash -- there is no such thing as a good frozen pizza! As one user writes on Reddit:

To be fair, not all frozen pizzas are created equal. You have to know where to go.

As Thrillist's Andy Kryza puts it, "we're living in the golden age of frozen pizza." Kryza eloquently describes 26 frozen pizza varieties, landing on DiGiornoTable5 and Home Run Inn as the top three.

According to one message board, there's science to back up why frozen pizza will never be able to rise to the occasion:

Do yourself a favor -- pick up a phone and order your pie. You owe it to yourself.
