MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI – An 18-year-old is facing trial for allegedly raping a young girl he met through social media.
Blake Allan Simpson of Norton Shores has been charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a child under age 13. He faces possible life in prison if convicted.
It’s alleged that Simpson met the girl through Facebook, said Muskegon County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Timothy Maat. There allegedly was sexual contact on at least one occasion – and act of penetration that occurred on March 1, 2018, Maat said.
He declined to say how the alleged rape was discovered.
Simpson has waived his preliminary examination and the case has been bound over to Muskegon County Circuit Court for trial.
He was released from jail after posting a $25,000 cash or surety bond.
