Joe Burrow’s pre-draft plans included an unexpected roasting from girlfriend Olivia Holzmacher.
On Wednesday, Holzmacher shared a screenshot of her text exchange with Burrow, who was selected No. 1 overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in Thursday’s NFL Draft, as she took a Word Hunt victory lap.
“These things are about to be the best thing to happen to me and the worse thing to happen to joe,” Holzmacher posted on her Instagram story. “Btw he’s beaten my [sic] 64 times in word hunt so my mocking victory response is well earned and overdue.”
Hours ahead of her boyfriend being drafted, Holzmacher shared a sweet message about Burrow’s next chapter.
“Tonight a new chapter starts! Thankful to be by your side joe and to be a part of the the past three seasons. I’ve had the best experiences and met the best people along the way. So excited for what the future holds. Tonight will be once in a lifetime,” she wrote.
Burrow, 23, and Holzmacher have been linked since 2017, the quarterback’s last year as an Ohio State Buckeye before transferring to LSU. She graduated from Ohio State last year and supported her longtime boyfriend ahead of January’s College Football National Championship victory over Clemson.
