Still, that rate includes a lot of cool perks from 24-hour access to a personal chef to a film crew who will document all your adventures.
You’ll arrive at this two-level ultra-modern residence separated from the rest of the resort by private seaplane transfer from Male, where the international airport is located. Once here you’ll be greeted by a dedicated team that will be at your disposal exclusively throughout your stay. You’ll also have a speedboat and jet skis to use for the duration of your vacation. A fitness trainer and masseuse are also on call.
Above water, the residence includes living and dining space, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a sea-facing tub, and an outdoor deck with an infinity pool. But the real star of the show is down a spiral staircase or elevator taking you beneath the ocean. The space is an architectural masterpiece and personal aquarium. The master bedroom has a 180-degree curved acrylic dome that lets you see unobstructed as fish, sharks and rays float above. At 10,000 square feet with a 2500 square foot rooftop terrace offering panoramic views of Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it takes up two floors and also is the largest penthouse suite in the US and one of the nicest hotel rooms in the country.
A private elevator takes guests directly to their VIP sleeping quarters that were styled by French interior designer Jacques Grange. The space is opulent with 26 foot high ceilings in the living room that occupies the historic hotel’s iconic copper roof turret and doubles as a grand ballroom should you want to throw a party.
There are five bedrooms, six bathrooms, four fireplaces, two wet bars and two powder rooms spread across the floors.
