A woman welcomed a baby boy in the air during a JetBlue flight from Puerto Rico to Florida — introducing the airline to its youngest passenger yet!

JetBlue flight 1954 was headed to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan in a nearly three-hour flight when the passenger gave birth, airline spokeswoman Tamara Young told WPLG.

Airline officials confirmed the incident to PEOPLE, describing the “onboard delivery of our youngest customer to date.”

“We’d like to thank the crew and medical professionals on board for their quick action under pressure, and wish the new mother and son all the best,” JetBlue spokeswoman Sharon A. Jones tells PEOPLE in a statement. “Flight 1954 was operated on aircraft N523JB, coincidentally named, ‘Born To Be Blue.’ ”

Crew and medical officials on board helped deliver the baby, Young told the station. Photos of the moments following the birth showed staff holding the baby and smiling.

“What an amazing coincidence our brand NEW #BabyBlue born at #BornToBeBlue aircraft @JetBlue @HelloJetBlue,” a social media user tweeted alongside the pictures.

“Thank you to our amazing IF crew and Angie AO Leader for suprising (sic) and delight this new mom!#Culturepic,” the tweet concluded.

Mother and baby are doing well, ABC News reported.

The birth comes just months after a Philippines Airlines flight attendant breastfed a passenger’s baby when the mother ran out of formula during the flight in November.
