A royal reunion! Queen Máxima of the Netherlands and Queen Letizia of Spain celebrate as their daughters both graduate from UWC Atlantic College in Wales

UWC Atlantic College in Wales is no stranger to royalty - but this year, they've counted not one, but two royal graduates.

Both the Royal Families of Spain and Netherlands celebrated the graduation of Princess Leonor and Princess Alexia, both 17, this weekend.

The school, which was founded in German educationalist Kurt Hahn, is situated at the 12th century St Donat's Castle on the country's south coast.

With school fees for a two year course costing a whopping £67,000, courses on offer include Tai Chi, the theory of knowledge and Tibetan literature.

Queen Máxima, 52, and King Willem-Alexander, 56, travelled to the prestigious school in South Wales and beamed as they posed for a picture with their second daughter.

For her big day, Princess Alexia opted for a chic white linen suit which she teamed with some burnt orange high heels.

Meanwhile, proud mother Máxima stunned in a brown ombre silk dress with a pleated skirt, which she paired with a brown blazer and suede heels.

What's more, King Felipe VI, 55, Queen Letizia, 50, and Princess Sofia, 16, all made the journey from Spain to congratulate Leonor, who is the heir to the throne.

In one picture, Leonor could be seen proudly showing her graduation certificate up in front of her.

The freshly graduated royal picked a hot pink jacket dress for the ceremony - which had cut-outs on the sleeves.

Letizia looked effortlessly elegant in a white suit which she paired with a silky blush pink top while Felipe was dapper in a black suit.

One sweet snap showed Sofia, who was wearing a powder blue dress - hugging her big sister close.

In another picture, media savvy Letizia gives the camera her best pout as the family pose for a selfie.

The images was shared by the Spanish royal court on Twitter to announce the heir-to-the-throne's graduation.

They captioned the post: 'The King and the Queen, the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía, after the graduation ceremony for the Princess of Asturias at the UWC Atlantic College of Wales, the educational institution where she completed her International Baccalaureate studies.'

A social media post shared on the Dutch royal family's social media to mark the occasion read: 'Princess Alexia has completed the International Baccalaureate exams at the United World College of the Atlantic.

'Today the school marks the end of the exam period with the traditional Leavers Celebration. The results of the exams are expected at the beginning of July.'

Although the royal couples didn't post photos together, it is likely that they would have rubbed shoulders at the event - having met on several state occasions in the past.

While Alexia's future studies are not yet known, Princess Leonor is set to start her military training before the end of the summer in August.

Whereas many of her peers will go off to university, the eldest daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia will return to Spain to begin training.

Tatler reported that Spanish defence minister Margarita Robles confirmed Princess Leonor of Asturias's next move earlier this week.

The training will include stints in the armed forces, the Spanish navy and the air force.

Speaking in March, Ms Robles confirmed: 'In due course, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces will be a woman, and in recent years we have been making a very important effort to incorporate women into the armed forces.'

The Princess will begin her training at Army Military Academy in Zaragoza before going to naval school, and will complete her three years at the General Air Academy.

In September last year the Spanish palace announced that Princess Leonor will go to university to study law once her three years of military training have been completed.

While Leonor's choice of university is unknown, the Princess's academic background already bears a resemblance to that of her father King Felipe.

After graduating from high school at Lakefield College in Canada, Felipe returned to Spain and attended the General Military Academy of Zaragozo, and went on to study at the Naval Military School in Marín.

He ended his training with a stint at the General Air Academy in San Javier.

His also completed his military training with a stint on the shop Juan Sebastián Elcano aged 18 in 1987, and went on to study law at the Autonomous University of Madrid.

Currently, Leonor, who is understood to speak four languages including Mandarin, juggles her life as a young princess with her work as a student at the Welsh boarding school, dubbed 'Hippie Hogwarts' thanks to its progressive approach to education and picturesque castle setting.

Previous students at the school include Belgian Princess Elisabeth, Princess Raiyah bint Hussein of Jordan and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
