Kidnapping charges filed

Kelvin Mojica-Reyes, left, has been charged with abducting Darlene Rijo-Aquino and her daughter Kayla Delrosario from a Shippensburg apartment.

A Chambersburg man who had just been served with a protection from abuse order has been charged with kidnapping the woman who secured that order along with her 7-year-old daughter.

The woman, 28-year-old Darlene Rijo-Aquino and her daughter Kayla Delrosaario were found unharmed Thursday evening. The man accused of the abductions, Kelvin Mojica-Reyes, 25, was in Cumberland County Prison without bail Friday.

Shippensburg police issued an Amber Alert on Thursday afternoon after receiving a report that a man had beaten a woman at a North Fayette Street apartment and had forced the woman and her daughter into a car.

Police said they soon learned that a PFA had been issued against Mojica-Reyes the previous day. He was arrested by state police at Chambersburg on Thursday night and charged with kidnapping, burglary, criminal trespass, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment and simple assault.
