Alabama Confirms 31 New Deaths From Coronavirus

MONTGOMERY, AL — The Alabama Department of Public Health confirmed 31 COVID-19 deaths Wednesday, and added 464 new cases of the virus to its total.

The state has confirmed 132,452 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began in March out of 1,070,903 tests administered in Alabama. The state reports that 61,232 patients are presumed to have recovered from the virtus.

Out of 88,042 tests administered in the past two weeks, 9,392 came back positive.

Alabama is averaging roughly 640 new cases of COVID-19 in the last week. The new case total each day in the last seven days:

• Sept. 17: 710 new cases
• Sept. 18: 574 new cases
• Sept. 19: 721 new cases
• Sept. 20: 677 new cases
• Sept. 21: 754 new cases
• Sept. 22: 583 new cases
• Sept. 23: 464 new cases
