Diners in New Jersey looking for a restaurant with a view ought look no further than Hamilton, home to one of the “most scenic” restaurants in the nation. That’s according to the online reservation company OpenTable, which published its list Thursday.

Rat's Restaurant, named for the character in Kenneth Graham’s children’s classic The Wind in the Willows, features rustic fireplaces, country French cuisine, seasonal hand-crafted cocktails and an eclectic beer and wine list. According to Open Table, Rat’s Restaurant is designed to give visitors the sense they have stepped into a village reminiscent of the impressionist painter Claude Monet’s beloved town of Giverny.

OpenTable selected the restaurants based solely on diner reviews collected between June 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019. To qualify, restaurants had to meet a minimum overall score and attain a certain number of reviews for consideration. The overall score consists of unique data points, such as overall diner rating, user clout, total reviews and regional overall rating. Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the total number of tags for which "scenic views" was cited as a special feature.
