Furries rescue woman being assaulted near California convention

A group of people dressed as furry animals for San Jose’s FurCon Convention came to the rescue of a woman getting assaulted, a report said.

The victim was allegedly being attacked in a car outside the convention center by suspect Demetri Hardnett on Friday night when the good Samaritans jumped in, according to a local NBC affiliate.

“This guy was just walloping a lady,” Kin Shiratsuki told the outlet. “He had to have hit her 10 times.”

Shiratsuki and others opened the car door and wrestled Hardnett off the victim. They then held him until cops arrived.

“I’ve had my whole life, a bunch of taekwondo and karate,” said Shiratsuki. “I was able to grab him by the back, pull him out of the vehicle and put him on the ground with as little violence as I could.”

Hardnett was charged with domestic violence.
