Leesburg Named One Of Good Housekeeping's Top Cheap Destinations

LEESBURG, VA — The Town of Leesburg was named one of Good Housekeeping's 20 Best Cheap Places to Travel in 2023. The list assembled domestic and international destinations for people looking to travel on a budget.

Leesburg was the only destination in Virginia to make Good Housekeeping's list. Washington, D.C. was also featured.

"For East Coast travelers looking for a quaint town to spend a quiet vacation in, Leesburg fits the bill," Meg St-Esprit wrote for Good Housekeeping's list."Downtown Leesburg looks like stepping into a postcard, with art galleries, restaurants and retail space tucked into historic buildings."

The list highlighted several local businesses including Shoe's Cup and Cork and the Catoctin Creek Distillery.

Good Housekeeping's rankings also noted Leesburg's proximity to Washington, D.C. "It also makes a great home base from which to explore the city without staying in an expensive hotel," St-Esprit wrote.

Leesburg officials were thrilled to see the town spotlighted on the high-profile list. Russell Seymour is the Economic Development Director for Leesburg.

"We are elated that Leesburg is being recognized as a top travel destination for those looking for a unique and exciting place to visit," Seymour said in a news release. "Leesburg is a great place to live, work, visit, and start a business."
