STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.-- "Saturday Night Live" star Pete Davidson has been through a lot this year, but luckily he hasn't given up on making a crowd laugh.

The Great Kills native made more headlines than ever, thanks to a hot-and-heavy romance with pop star Ariana Grande that later hit the skids.

While this Staten Island-bred comedian is going through hard times -- most recently posting concerning posts on Instagram just days before the SNL season finale -- we'd like to take a look back at some of his high points this year.

1. Tan France tells Davidson how to dress.

Tan France, the fashion guru of the "Queer Eye" revamp, helped give Davidson a new perspective on style this year.

"I trust you way more than my Staten Island fashion knowledge," Davidson said, calling himself "guido trash."

2. Davidson gets down for a Docker's ad.

In the wake of Super Bowl commercials excitement, Davidson got on "Weekend Update" to talk about his experience filming for Docker's, a brand of pants.

"A few months ago, I shot a Docker's commercial because things in my career are going exactly how I want them to go," Davidson said.

The premise of the commercial was to get people to trade their personal pants for a pair of Docker's and see the difference. Here's how that went.

3. All about his engagement.

"Yeah, I get it. She's the number one pop star in the world and I'm that guy from 'SNL'  that everyone thinks is in desperate need of more blood," Davidson said.

"Weekend Update" host Colin Jost asked him about enjoying the limelight and if Davidson and Ariana Grande were going to sign a prenup. He responded "Obviously I wanted one, you know, so God forbid we split up and she takes half my sneakers."

He ended the segment talking about a song off of Ariana Grande's "Sweetner" album titled "Pete Davidson" and how he hasn't gotten any money from those streams.

"In 10 years, if God forbid [we break up], there will be a song called 'Pete Davidson' playing in speakers of K-Mart and I'll be working there," Davidson said.

4. Giving his first impressions of midterm election candidates.

"The midterm elections are obviously a huge deal and after I had to move back in with my mom, I started paying attention to them," Davidson said kicking off his first "Weekend Update" appearance post-breakup with Ariana Grande.

During his first impressions, Davidson joked that candidate Peter King looked like a "cigar came to life" and Andrew Cuomo looks like "a guy who's sleeping with your mom but stays overnight and eats breakfast with you in his boxers."

Ultimately, the comedian took a few shots at himself saying he "looks like he makes vape juice in a bathtub" and "like a Dr. Seuss character went to prison."

5. When he got a taste of his own medicine.

Davidson started off the "Weekend Update" saying, "In what I'm sure was a huge shock for people who know me, I made a poor choice last week."

He was talking about the jokes he made regarding  Lt. Com. Dan Crenshaw the week prior. After throwing some digs in a previous segment, Davidson apologized for his remarks on behalf of himself and "SNL."

"Can you imagine being my mom? That must suck," Davidson said. "Can you imagine being Pete Davidson's mom? It can't be easy when everyone's mad at your son and roommate."

6. Davidson dives into Kanye West's post-'SNL' rant.

"First off, a lot of people thought Che should be the one to discuss Kanye," Davidson said, introducing the segment. "Che's black but I'm crazy and we both know what side of Kanye is at the wheel right now."

He was recounting Kanye West's off-air rant after his "SNL" performance, saying it was among the "worst, most awkward things I've ever seen here."

The comedian went on to say West should not use his mental illness as an excuse for his actions and if he's prescribed medication, "Take 'em."

"If I ever got on a plane and the pilot said 'I just want you all to know, this is the real me flying tonight, I'd jump out," Davidson said.
