Former 'Deadliest Catch' Star Accused Of Stealing From Tampa IKEA

Police said Thursday that Jerod Sechrist was arrested after being accused of stealing more than $1,000 in merchandise from the Tampa IKEA.

TAMPA, FL — A former cast member of The Discovery Channel's “Deadliest Catch” reality TV show is once again in trouble with Tampa Police. Police said Thursday that Jerod Sechrist, 33, was arrested after being accused of stealing more than $1,000 in merchandise from the IKEA store in the Ybor City neighborhood.

On Oct. 5, Tampa Police said they arrested Sechrist on a warrant concerning a reckless driving incident and found heroin on him. He was charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

A deckhand on Captain Wild Bill's crab-fishing boat, Sechrist appeared in three episodes of the hit series in 2016.

Sechrist, who lists a home address of 7th Avenue, Tampa, is being held in the Hillsborough County Jail on a $2,000 bond.
