City employee arrested during NYC post-election protests

A city employee was busted with fireworks and a hammer during a post-Election Day protest in Manhattan Wednesday after he grabbed a police officer from behind in Manhattan, cops said.

Serjay Parks, 21, was busted around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at Seventh Avenue and Leroy Street in Greenwich Village along with dozens of other protesters, cops said.

Parks, who works for the NYC Department of Environmental Protection, was charged with obstruction of governmental administration, criminal possession of a weapon, violation of local law, unlawful possession of fireworks and harassment, cops said.

He allegedly “grabbed the body of an officer and pulled the officer from behind,” police said. He was also walking in the street with dozens of others when sidewalks were available, cops said.

“Being a knucklehead basically,” a police source said.

Parks made $31,482 as a water use inspector in 2019, city records show.
