Zion Turner and Marcus Rosemy connected on two touchdown passes to spark a slow-starting St. Thomas Aquinas offense and lead the Raiders to a 36-0 win over visiting Miramar on Friday in a non-district game.

The Raiders (3-0), ranked second nationally by USA Today and sixth in the country by MaxPreps, were held in check by the Patriots’ defense for their first two drives before Turner and Rosemy capped the third with a 6-yard scoring pass with 1:52 to play in the first quarter.

Aquinas then capitalized on two second-quarter turnovers that led to a 21-0 halftime lead. With 9:28 to play in the first half, Bobby Washington recovered a Miramar (2-3) fumble on the Patriots’ 25-yard line. Eight plays later, Turner and Rosemy connected on their second touchdown pass of the game from 9 yards out with 6:51 left in the half.

Three plays into the ensuing Miramar possession, Ja’den McBurrows jumped the passing route and took the interception 25 yards to the end zone.

Jaedon Henry ripped off a 75-yard touchdown run two plays into the second half to put the game well out of reach. Noah Botsford also connected on a 52-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

The Raiders defense did not allow Miramar to convert a first down and held the Patriots to minus-21 yards in total offense.
