Choose beautiful materials
"The choice of materials is super important and makes a simple piece truly unique," explains Anne-Laure. "Where possible, opt for materials like cotton, wool and silk."
Pick versatile colours
"Choose colours that are easy to wear every day: forget the fluorescent yellow, which might not last longer than one season. Instead, opt for black, white, navy and soft colours like baby blue or baby yellow for a truly timeless colour palette."
Choose beautiful cuts
"When in doubt, choose clothes that flatter your silhouette. It seems obvious but this can easily be overlooked. If in doubt, think about what clothes you feel your best in - is it because of how they fit? If so, stock up on more items in that shape."
Invest in designer and vintage
"Vintage and designer pieces are now more accessible than ever thanks to the Internet. If you love something, take your time and do you research - you never know, you might be able to find a bargain."
Ditch micro trends
"I very quickly put aside the micro-trends. The most important thing for my outfits is that they feel comfortable and are in-keeping with my more feminine style."
Find your ideal jeans
"Jeans are key to a timeless wardrobe so find a pair that suits you and they'll become a go-to, hero piece."
Invest in nice basics
"Rather than forking out on trend pieces, spend your money on quality basics like white T-shirts or little sweaters that will stand the test of time."
