Taylor Swift endorses Joe Biden for president

Taylor Swift made Joe Biden “The 1” on Wednesday when she announced her support for the Democratic presidential candidate.

The pop star — whose album “Folklore” was released in July — revealed the endorsement on Twitter, saying she spoke to V Magazine about the decision.

“So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate,” Swift said of the magazine story. “Gonna be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by yelling at the tv a lot.”

Swift told the publication she believes under Biden’s potential leadership, the US “has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs.”

The musician billed Biden as the best candidate for the rights of people of color, women and the LGBTQ community.

She also believes Biden is better suited to steer the country through the coronavirus pandemic.

“Everyone deserves a government that takes global health risks seriously and puts the lives of its people first,” Swift said.

“The only way we can begin to make things better is to choose leaders who are willing to face these issues and find ways to work through them.”
