Alabama Confirms 574 New Coronavirus Cases
The Alabama Department of Public Health reported 574 new coronavirus cases Thursday, 114 in Jefferson County.
MONTGOMERY, AL β The number of new COVID-19 cases reported daily by the Alabama Department of Public Health continues to stay under 1,000, as Thursday's report by the ADPH confirmed 574 new cases of the virus.
The state also reported seven deaths from COVID-19, bringing Alabama's fatality total to 2,264. Of the 141,757 cases of the virus confirmed in Alabama since the pandemic began, 61,232 patients are presumed to have recovered.
In the last two weeks, the state has confirmed 8,785 new cases of COVID-19 out of 82,714 tests administered in the state over that time. Alabama's 14-day total has remained under 10,000 throughout the month of September.

Jefferson County was the only county in the state that reported more than 100 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, confirming 114 new cases.

The counties with the most new cases of COVID-19 reported Thursday:
- Jefferson County: 114 new cases; 17,860 total
- Madison County: 59 new cases; 7,015 total
- Mobile County: 56 new cases; 12,627 total
- Shelby County: 50 new cases; 4,817 total
- Calhoun County: 44 new cases; 2,881 total
