DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings have reassigned forward Evgeny Svechnikov, defenseman Joe Hicketts and goaltender Tom McCollum to the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins.

The Red Wings have two games remaining, Thursday against Montreal (7:30 p.m., Fox Sports Detroit) and Saturday vs. the New York Islanders, both at Little Caesars Arena.

The Griffins are competing for first place in the Central Division with five games to play.

Svechnikov had two goals and two assists in 14 games with the Red Wings, averaging only 8:49 in ice time. Hicketts had three assists in four games since being recalled for the second time this season. He played one previous game for Detroit. He averaged 17:21 in five games with the Red Wings.

McCollum was recalled on an emergency basis Tuesday to serve as Jimmy Howard's backup in Columbus after Jared Coreau, who had been scheduled to start, came down with the flu.

The Red Wings have exhausted their four post-trade deadline recalls. They can only recall a player now under emergency conditions due to injury.
