A 38-year-old motorcycle rider from Washington was passing in a no-passing zone Sunday evening on Brass Castle Road in Washington Township, Warren County, when he slammed into 2005 Nissan Sentra that was making a left onto Bowerstown Road, township police report.
The wreck was reported at 7:48 p.m., police Lt. John Kaufmann said.
Danny Whitmore was riding south on Brass Castle and began to pass vehicles and Eric Lawson, up ahead and also southbound of Brass Castle, was making the turn when the 2008 Suzuki bike slammed into the driver’s side of the Nissan, Kaufmann said.
The motorcycle ended up near a tree.
Whitmore suffered a leg injury and was taken by the Washington Rescue Squad to Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment, Kaufmann said.
Traffic was limited to one lane while the investigation got underway, according to a report from the scene.
Whitmore will be cited with careless driving and improper passing, Kaufmann said.
The bike had to be towed but the car was drivable.
In addition to police and the rescue squad, township firefighters and paramedics from the medical center responded.
