Domino’s Japan launches ‘Roulette’ pizza with one ghost pepper slice

This is a real treat — or trick.

Domino’s locations in Japan are selling a “Halloween Roulette” pie, which will turn an innocent pizza party into a real parlor game.

Each pizza contains an unmarked slice doused with ghost pepper sauce that is masquerading as a regular piece of the pie, according to Japan Today. Whoever grabs the sneaky slice garnished with the sauce will get a mouthful of the flaming ghost pepper, once known as the hottest chili pepper in the world.

The fiery food became infamous after the Ghost Pepper Challenge, with viral videos of people swallowing the potent pepper and suffering the after-effects on camera. But the ghost pepper is no longer thought of as the world’s hottest variety. The Carolina Reaper — which according to the site Pepperhead is a cross between a ghost pepper and a red habanero — is now considered the inferno of peppers.

Still, this slice will delight foodie thrill-seekers or send an unsuspecting diner facedown into a bucket of milk.
