A woman was hit by a Conway Scenic Railroad train on Sunday
The train's horn was reportedly sounded multiple times, but the woman didn't move off the tracks.
A woman was seriously injured when she was reportedly hit by a Conway Scenic Railroad train in Conway, N.H. on Sunday.The train, which had about 300 people on board, was headed to a pumpkin patch when the woman, 50, was struck behind a McDonald’s restaurant on Route 16 around 3 p.m., according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.The woman had injuries to her legs, head and torso, WMUR reported. She was first taken to Memorial Hospital in North Conway and then medflighted to another hospital.The train was going about 13 miles per hour when it struck the woman, Susan Hogan, the railroad’s marketing manager, told the newspaper.“A woman was trespassing on our tracks in North Conway, fairly close to the station,” she said. “She was facing the train. Our engineer blew his horn, and she just stood there and the engine hit her.”The engineer hit the brakes as hard as possible without potentially hurting someone on the train, Logan said, according to the Union Leader.
