WYCKOFF, NJ — At a Tuesday news conference in Wyckoff, two organizations representing state troopers endorsed U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (D-5th District) for reelection, a news release from Gottheimer's office said.
Gottheimer was endorsed by the New Jersey State Troopers Fraternal Association, which represents more than 1,800 state troopers in New Jersey, and the National Troopers Coalition, which represents 42,000 state troopers nationwide.
"I’m deeply honored to have the support of the National Troopers Coalition and New Jersey State Troopers," said Gottheimer, who was joined at the conference by STFA president Wayne Blanchard and NTC chair Thomas Mungeer.
In the Fifth Congressional District, state troopers serve as the main police force for 21 local towns, which is equivalent to more than a quarter of the district, the news release said.
“Congressman Josh Gottheimer has been a tireless, bipartisan advocate for law enforcement and our families, an important partner who the men and women of the State Troopers Association can always count on to fight for us,” Blanchard said.
