Rombauer, a 13-1 underdog, ran down Medina Spirit and Midnight Bourbon in the final stretch to win the Preakness and block Medina Spirit’s Triple Crown bid. Medina Spirit, who tested positive for a banned steroid after winning the Kentucky Derby, finished third.
