American Idol star Adam Lambert is heading to Worcester’s Mechanics Hall in December for XLO’s “Almost ACOUSTIC XMAS."
Tickets for the Dec. 12 show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. Internet-only pre-sale tickets, available for WXLO VIP Club members, will be available Thursday from 10 a.m. to midnight.
XLO’s ACOUSTIC XMAS shows have become a holiday tradition in Worcester. This year’s performance will mark the event’s 11th anniversary and the second time that Lambert has headlined.
The concerts have featured acoustic and semi-acoustic acts from stars like Train, the Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry, Gavin Degraw, Andy Grammer, The Fray, Barenaked Ladies and others. The shows typically sell out in advance each year.
Lambert, who starred in season eight of American Idol, went on to release his debut album, “For Your Entertainment,” in 2009, earning him a Grammy nomination.
This summer, he embarked on a North American tour with Queen and recently announced a string of stadium shows across Australia, New Zealand and Japan for 2020.
