The first weekend of May will bring plenty of things to do around Northern Virginia and DC. From historic celebrations and free embassy tours to foodie and pet events, there's something for everyone.

We've rounded up numerous events going on from Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5. Some are free, while others have fees.
